DJI releases launch teaser, hinting FPV Drone

DJI released an exciting teaser for the launch of the much-awaited FPV (or ‘First Person View’) drone. Twitter post from the @DJIGlobal account confirmed the release date. The tech giant will host the release event on March 2 at 9 AM EST (2 PM GMT).

Da-Jiang Innovations, widely known as DJI, is the world leader in drone technology with more than 70% of the worldwide market share. The company is best known for its Mavic and Phantom drones, which brought consumer drones into the mainstream.

A short sample video posted on the official site of DJI shows the breathtaking footage of landscapes, drifting cars and motocross riders. FPV drones are the racing drones in which pilot wear a set of digital googles and see the birds-eye view from the high-quality drone camera.

It will be interesting to see what the Drone leader will bring in their first FPV drone.

Here are some rumors spreading around regarding the DJI FPV:

The DJI FPV Drone, DJI FPV Remote Controller 2, and DJI FPV Goggles V2, one battery, two sets of propellers, a gimbal protector and a spare top shell and USB-C power cable are expected to be in the box.

The camera will have a 142° field of view and will capture 4K 60 FPS at 120 Mbps.

The goggles to receive up to 810P at 60FPS in high-quality mode, or 120FPS in low-latency mode. 1080p video can be recorded by the drone at up to 120 FPS.

The drone’s controller will have a “panic button” that allowing you to recover from something unusual and put it into a stable hover. 

Maximum flying speed to be in between 60mph to 90mph.

DJI FPV Drone will feature AirSense that picks up ADS-B signals from nearby manned aircraft and will send an alert to the pilot.
